Terms of Service
Last updated: June 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Rate-API website and API (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms.
1. The Service
Rate-API provides exchange-rate data through an HTTP API and related tooling. Rates are sourced from third-party providers and offered for informational purposes; they are not a quote or an offer to trade and may differ from rates available elsewhere.
2. Accounts and API keys
You are responsible for keeping your API keys confidential and for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use. We may suspend keys that appear compromised or abusive.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to: exceed your plan's rate limits or quotas by technical circumvention; resell raw rate data as a competing rates API; or use the Service to violate any law or third-party right. We may rate-limit, suspend, or terminate access for violations.
4. Plans, billing and refunds
Paid plans are billed in advance through our payment provider. Quotas reset monthly. You can change or cancel your plan at any time; changes take effect immediately and unused time is not refunded except where required by law.
5. Availability
We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, including accuracy of rates or fitness for a particular purpose.
6. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Rate-API is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any losses arising from reliance on the rate data. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid in the three months preceding the claim.
7. Changes
We may update these Terms; material changes will be announced on this page or by email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
